What moves the number
Most jobs are straightforward to price. A few are not, and it is usually one of these. The scoping week exists so we find that out before you have spent anything on the build.

- Live chat, multiplayer, location tracking between users. The software is not hard; keeping it correct under load is.
- Payments beyond a checkout
- Subscriptions, marketplaces, payouts to other people. Each one drags compliance behind it.
- Integrations with something old
- If it has to talk to software written before 2010, the unknown is their side, not ours.
- A design you already have
- Usually brings the number down, occasionally not. A polished Figma file speeds things up; a mood board does not.
- How many people have to agree
- A project with one decision maker moves. One with a committee costs more because it takes longer, and pretending otherwise helps nobody.
